Indian Springs School is proud to be recognized by Niche as the “Best Private High School in Alabama” for the 12th straight year. In addition to the top overall ranking, Indian Springs is top in the state for college prep and diversity, and top in the Birmingham area for STEM education.
With an overall Niche Grade of A+, Indian Springs ranks in the top 2 percent of all high schools in the nation. This ranking reflects strong performance in academics, teaching quality, extracurricular activities, diversity, college readiness, and athletics.
The 2026 Niche rankings, released on September 26, 2025, are determined by average ACT/ SAT scores, the percentage of graduates who go to four-year colleges and universities, rankings of the colleges and universities that graduates attend, student-teacher ratio, student culture and diversity, and parent and student experiences.
